I think Nikki and Heather's lectures are closely related. Both of them introduced the application of the new technology in class. From Heather's lecture, I know culture can be learned by using video clips or audio files. Thisis really new to me. Nikki teaches us how to make use of such technology as creating blogs or using chat or wikki to make teaching interesting and effective.
Their lecturesteach me that the traditional teaching method is not the only way used . Technology is an effective way to improve teaching if it is adopted wisely, if instutional support is provided and if both teachers and students have computer literacy.
The lectures opened a new horizon for me. I seldom use technology in my class, but after listening to their lectures, I changed my mind. I will trying using the technology I have learned here in Pen State in my interpretation class. Maybe it might improve my teaching and students learning.

I've read Yingli's bolg on chatting. I think she has a positive opinion towatds chatting in class. In view of different levels of learners, she offer different suggestions on how to use chat in class step by step. In her view, studnets's computer literacy and interests will be improved gradually.

comments on three bloggs
I've read three teachers' blogs. here are my comments.
Zhu Feng talked about chatting . She feels excited about learning this technology, but she doesn't think it possible to use it in Englih class in CUMTB for the lack of computer equipment and also computer literacy of both teachers and students.
Lilian also talked about the problems of using chatting in teaching due to the large of number of students . But on the other side , she mentions the benefits of using chatting, which helps teachers provide more information to students and solve students problems.
Chen has a positive opinion on using technology in class. She thinks that it helps teaching and learning . Audio materials, video films , Mp3 files are quite useful in her class for thought provoking. Beneficial as it is, it cannot replace learnign and teaching. That is what it has in Chen's mind.
I quite agree with three studnets' comments. We enjoy using technology in class, but we have our own problems which cannot be solved in CUMTB. So we'll try using it in class when both teachers and students have computer literacy, when the equipment is avaible, when the size of the class is small.

ideas on how to use chatting in my class
Chatting can be used in my class for guiding students' thesis writing. When Studnets have probleming selecting an appropriate title for his or her paper, the teacher can give suggestion on how to narrow the topic, how to select the one that is within his or her control. The teacher can salso use the chat online to give the student a guide line on how to organize the thesis, how to look for the materials, etc.
In summary, I will try using chatting next term when I guide my students in writing paper.

GOALS FOR THIS CLASS
I think the goal for this class is to introduce some new concepts and methods of using computer mediated communication in language teaching. We hope that we should first be acquainted with some technological tools such as blog, headtalk, etc. Second, we should be taught how to use these tools to improve teaching. Third, we prefer class observation which helps us gain insight into the real use of technology in US class.
